MSON 2025 Workshop

Join Us for MSON’s Annual Workshop

Sunday, June 22 – Wednesday, June 25, 2025

MSON Host: The Prairie School

Join us on the shores of Lake Michigan where you can pause (on a Wisconsin prairie!), take stock of recent teaching and learning experiences (while enjoying delicious food), and chart your path forward with similarly curious, insightful, passionate colleagues. See schedule below.

Day 1 – June 22nd

Day 1 is an opportunity to take in our local surroundings, receive opening remarks from the Executive Director, and connect with other workshop recipients during a casual cocktail reception.

Day 2 – June 23rd

Day 2 focuses on what makes for a meaningful educational experience, translating brick-and-mortar courses into a “flipped” context, course pacing and assessments, and the unique opportunities afforded by teaching online. We include time for implementation, as well for exploring our host school’s campus, before concluding the day with a group dinner.

Day 3 – June 24th

Day 3 features a session led by Executive Coach Alexis Stern, an opportunity to hear directly from former MSON students, a class simulation, and continued course design.

Day 4 – June 25th

Day 4 is an opportunity for continued implementation, follow-up conversations, details about MSON policies and procedures, and goal setting for the coming year. We’ll enjoy a boxed lunch and conclude with plenty of time for everyone to head home or perhaps explore more of beautiful Wisconsin!

I felt it was so well planned out and modeled good teaching, far too often pd for teachers fails that basic test. Here I had a chance to generate ideas and discuss them, then immediately have some time to implement them. It was a wonderful balance.

This was among the most valuable PD opportunities I’ve attended in my years of teaching, both for onboarding via MSON and developing meaningful relationships with a national network of colleagues.
