This edition of Student Spotlight shines on Manlius Pebble High’s Daniel Braverman.
MSON classes have been some of my favorites throughout high school. They gave me the great opportunity to learn and explore topics not available in my school’s curriculum. More importantly, being a member of a classroom community with such diverse perspectives proved to be extremely valuable.
I took American Food Systems as a sophomore and Advanced Macroeconomics as a senior. In American Food Systems, a student from Texas shared her experience with water scarcity which helped give life to the statistics on the topic. Two years later, in Advanced Macroeconomics, the classroom discussions were again my favorite part. It’s rare for high schoolers to have the opportunity to discuss what they’re learning with others across the country, so I encourage all students who can take a MSON class to do it at least once during high school.
